For more than 40 years, Garde has built its foundation on a clear premise: delivering complex, high-voltage electrical infrastructure with precision and reliability. From high-voltage cable installation and substation works to complex underground utilities, our name has been synonymous with specialist power engineering across Australia.

Today, we are taking the next logical step in our growth.

Following the acquisition of Cleary Bros by Maas Group Holdings, we are officially integrating expanded civil infrastructure capabilities into our service model – formalising a broader offering that bridges the gap between major civil works and high-voltage delivery.

Garde Civil Infrastructure – a new era

Under the transition, Cleary Bros’ established and experienced team of civil construction professionals, sector expertise and network of projects will move under Garde Civil Infrastructure. Their comprehensive range of fleet and equipment will continue under Maas Plant Hire, a subsidiary of Maas Group Holdings through which we work collaboratively to provide a comprehensive, end-to-end solution to clients.

The civil capability, people and relationships remain, and we’re adding Garde’s HV infrastructure capability.

To deliver high-voltage underground cables, transformers, and transmission systems, you must first master the ground above and around them. Over four decades, civil execution has been an integral part of every utility corridor we establish and every substation we energise.

Formalising and expanding our civil capability is not a shift away from our roots – it is a reinforcement of them.

What this means for our clients

1. Broader package delivery, less risk

Clients can now engage Garde to handle the complete package – from initial clearing, bulk earthworks, and access road construction through to trenching, conduit installation, jointing, and final energisation. Reducing the number of handoffs between subcontractors directly reduces project risk and administrative overhead.

2. Standalone civil capability

In addition to supporting high-voltage projects, our civil team actively undertakes standalone civil infrastructure projects, including subdivisions, bulk earthworks, roadworks, and council infrastructure across regional NSW and beyond, including Illawarra and the South Coast of NSW.

3. Uncompromised technical excellence

Expanding into broader civil works does not alter our dedication to high-voltage engineering. Our HV teams remain specialised, highly trained, and focused on maintaining the exact standards that asset owners have trusted since 1980.
