Jointing bay construction
Garde construction capability is valuable on long length cable installation projects. As cable is delivered in lengths of up to approximately 800 metres maximum it may be joined together at a jointing bay. Garde constructs the jointing bays, usually a pit about 6m long x 2m wide x 2m deep, with reinforced concrete walls. The cable is pulled into the jointing bay from both ends and joined before the trench is backfilled.
